Actions on a call

The follow-up ActiveLens drafts for you — emails, meetings, tasks and updates in your other tools.

A summary tells you what happened. Actions are what happens next. After a call, ActiveLens suggests the follow-up it can see in the conversation and drafts it for you.

What an action can be

The actions you can add to any call:

  • Email — a follow-up email, with recipients, subject and body.
  • Meeting — a meeting invitation with a title, agenda and attendees.
  • ActiveLens task — a task on your Tasks list, with a due date.
  • Salesforce log — an activity logged against the right record.
  • Jira issue — an issue with a summary and description.
  • Trello card — a card on a board.
  • Monday task — an item on a Monday board.
  • Monday update — an update written onto an existing Monday item.

Which ones you see depends on what your workspace has connected — see Connect an integration.

Nothing is sent without you

This is the important part: ActiveLens drafts, you decide. An email is written but not sent; a task is written but not created. You open the draft, read it, change anything you want, and then apply it. Nothing leaves ActiveLens on its own.

Work through the actions

Open a call and the actions are on the Actions strip. Click one to open its card.

  • Everything in the draft is editable. Rewrite the email, change the attendees, move the due date.
  • Apply does the real thing: opens the email in your mail client, creates the task, writes the record.
  • Regenerate rewrites the draft from the call if it missed the point.
  • Remove takes the action off the call if it is not wanted.

An applied action stays on the call as a record of what you did.

Add an action yourself

Press + on the actions strip and pick what you want. Then choose how it should be written:

  • Generate from this call — ActiveLens writes it from the conversation.
  • Tell it what you want — type (or dictate, with the microphone button) your own instructions: "email Dana the pricing we agreed, mention the September start". Your instructions take priority over everything else.

You can add more than one of the same kind — two different emails to two different people is perfectly normal.

Emails

An email action opens in the mail client you choose: Gmail, Outlook on the web, or the Outlook desktop app. Pick your preference on the draft itself; it is remembered for next time.

Because the email is handed to your own mail client, it is sent from your own mailbox and lands in your own Sent folder.

If an action needs a tool you have not connected

Actions for tools your workspace has not connected are shown, but picking one offers to connect it first. Connecting opens the integration page in a new tab; come back to the call and press Refresh when you are done.
